Overview
The Settings section allows you to customize the application's appearance, manage security policies, and perform essential vault maintenance.
Appearance
- Theme: Select between Light, Dark, or System preferences. Changes are applied instantly.
Security
These settings define the identity verification policy for sensitive actions.
- Require Verification: The master toggle for security prompts. When disabled, the application will not ask for your Master Password for most sensitive actions.
- Verification Timeout: When verification is enabled, this sets the duration (in minutes) for which a successful prompt remains valid.
- Change Master Password: Allows you to rotate your primary credential. The app re-wraps your Vault Key at rest and refreshes the hardware-bound session; your saved entries stay encrypted with the same underlying key material.
Data & Plugins
Direct access to data portability and application extensibility.
- Import & Export: Opens the interface for creating or restoring JSON export files. See Import & Export for details.
- Plugins: Manage third-party plugins, allowing you to enable or disable additional functionality. See Plugins for details.
Maintenance
Tools for managing the health and lifecycle of your local database.
- Compact Database: Optimizes the local file by removing internal fragmentation. Recommended for maintaining performance.
- Clear Database: Permanently deletes absolutely all records, settings, and session tokens, returning the application to its initial state.
Clearing the database is irreversible. Use this only if you intend to start over or are preparing to restore from a backup.
Summary
The Settings section is the central hub for fine-tuning your experience. Use it to balance convenience and security, manage your plugins, and ensure your vault stays optimized through regular maintenance.
